St. Louis is a great place to find something to do without spending money. If youre looking for something to do, (and dont mind the cold) check out the Fete De Glace this Saturday in St. Charles. Some of the areas top ice carvers will be using chainsaws, picks, chisels and more to turn blocks of ice into works of art. The audience will judge the carvings and select the winners. If you get a little too cold, warm up by one of the fire pits or enjoy some coffee and hot chocolate. St. Charles also has many restaruants along Main Street where you can get sit down and get a warm meal. The Fete De Glace is just one of the free events in St. Louis this winter. Fete De Glace January 28, 2012 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. North Main Street, St. Charles Mardi Gras celebrations are already underway in Soulard. This coming weekend, the neighborhood is gearing up for the Family Winter Carnival in Soulard Market Park at 8th and Lafayette Streets. The kid-friendly event includes arts and crafts, interactive games and special appearances by Fredbird and the Rally Squirrel. Many of the activities are held in a large, heated tent so everyone will be comfortable despite the cold weather. The Family Winter Carnival also features food, drinks and a childrens parade through the streets of Soulard. The Family Winter Carnival is Saturday, January 28, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. |
