St. Louis summers are full of free concerts, movies, kids events and more. The St. Louis Zoo is great to visit any time of the year, but summer is when the Zoo really shines. From Memorial Day to Labor Day the Zoo is open extended hours until 7 p.m., on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Zoo also opens an hour earlier every day at 8 a.m. If you visit on a Friday night, you can also enjoy Jungle Boogie, free outdoor concerts featuring popular local musicians from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The concerts are held at Schnuck Family Plaza near the sea lion basin. Twilight Tuesdays at the Missouri History Museum Whitaker Music Festival at Missouri Botanical Garden Celebrate Summer Concerts (Live on the Levee) Looking for a place to have drinks with friends? Try the summer happy hour in downtown St. Louis. Nineteen downtown restaurants are taking part in the summer happy hour called Wednesday Night Out. Each restaurant will be offering drink specials and reduced-price appetizers from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., every Wednesday from May through the end of August.
